Helping your child get back on track
Connections aims to help young people aged 13 to 19 years who have found it difficult to stay in school. If your child has missed more than three months of school and is not in full-time employment Connections may offer an opportunity to get back on track with their education and learning.
Connections providers will assess the young person’s eligibility for participation in Connections and work with them on a plan to identify their strengths and address barriers they face, barriers such as substance abuse, juvenile justice orders and mental health issues.
Connections providers continue to support and guide the young person as they progress and for at least three months after formally leaving the program.
The Australian Government is committed to protecting children from harm and promoting their wellbeing. Before they can deliver services to young people, all Connections personnel undergo an Australian Federal Police criminal history check that fully discloses any charges or convictions against them.
