National Industry Career Specialists
The network of ten National Industry Career Specialists support the work of the 57 Regional Industry Career Advisers by developing and providing targeted, sector-specific, high quality career information, particularly on skills needs and labour markets.
National Industry Career Specialists work with key stakeholders to inform Regional Industry Career Advisers, industry, employers and businesses about emerging skills needs, training pathways and career opportunities within the following ten industries.
- Agri-Food
- Community Services and Health
- Construction and Property Services
- Electro Communications and Energy Utilities
- Government and Community Safety
- Innovation and Business
- Manufacturing
- Resources and Infrastructure
- Services
- Transport and Logistics
They also aim to increase awareness of the Career Advice Australia initiative, and the involvement of national industry and employer groups in supporting young people’s career development.
To achieve this, National Industry Career Specialists establish strong and collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders including the Regional Industry Career Adviser network, other National Industry Career Specialists, Industry Skills Councils, Group Training Australia, state and territory training authorities, and national parent organisations and associations.
