National Industry Career Specialists
The 10 National Industry Career Specialists support the work of the 57 Regional Industry Career Advisers by providing targeted, sector-specific, high quality career information with a particular focus on skills needs and labour markets.
National Industry Career Specialists work with key stakeholders to inform the Regional Industry Career Advisers, industry, employers and business about emerging skills needs, training pathways and career opportunities in the 10 industry sectors. This helps to ensure this information is readily available to young people when they start thinking about career choices.
The National Industry Career Specialists also aim to raise awareness of the Career Advice Australia programs and services at a national level.
To achieve this goal, National Industry Career Specialists form strong partnerships with national bodies such as Industry Skills Councils, industry groups, Group Training Australia, state and territory training authorities and national parent organisations. They also promote ways in which these groups can be involved in supporting young people in their transition from school to further study, training or work.
The National Industry Career Specialists represent the following 10 industry sectors.
- Agri-Food
