Get involved
There are many ways in which schools, career advisers and teachers can help young people to plan and prepare for their future.
- Get your school involved in Adopt a School, Structured Workplace Learning and Career and Transition Support programs.
- Include career resources—such as The Real Game and Year12 - What next—in your curriculum.
- Encourage young people to attend career expos and TAFE and university open days.
- Recommend online resources that can help. The useful links shown on the right are a good place to start.
- Make use of professional development opportunities.
- When young people talk to you about their future, be positive about their thoughts and chances of finding a satisfying career path. Talk about how different jobs might work for them. Help them identify their positive qualities, interests, likes and experiences.
